This breed originates from Entlebuch, Switzerland. The Entlebucher Mountain Dog is very smart, friendly, and loyal. He's independent and self-confident, yet he bonds strongly to his person and is happiest spending the day at his family's side. They are smallest of the four Swiss Mountain dogs, being only a fraction the size of the Bernese and Greater Swiss Mountain Dogs. They have a shorter, coarse coat that comes in black or dark brown with white markings.
