Irish Setter
Overview
The Irish Setter originated in Ireland during the 18th century. The dogs were bred as gundogs for tracking, pointing and retrieving game birds. They can be independent, but they tend to form strong bonds with family members. The Irish Setter is an outgoing and joyful family member who love to play and run. Although charming, they take a little longer to mature, and are expected to keep their puppy silliness until at least three years old. They can be sometimes stubborn and have lots of energy to spare. They love being the center of attention and they are playful and mischievous, good-humored dogs.
