Komondor

Overview

The dreadlocked Komondor is a powerful large Hungarian breed. The independent and protective Kom tend to be gentle and affectionate with family, but cautious with strangers. Intelligent and loyal, they are an independent thinker with physical strength, so they require a firm and experienced family to train them. The corded white coat helps them to camouflage and blend in with sheep and protects them from predators who may be stalking the flock they are guarding. Their coat also keeps them warm in the winter and prevented sunburn in the hot seasons. Although Komondors are a calm and responsible breed, they live to have something to guard and care for- whether it be animals, property or their family.
