Norwegian Lundehund
Overview
Lunde is the Norwegian word for puffin, a bird also known as a sea parrot. The Norwegian Lundehund, also known as Lundie, were the only dog breed created for the job of puffin hunting. They would climb cliffs on Norwegian islands and retrieve live puffins, as they structure would allow the to grip, climb, descend and squeeze into small cracks. They are friendly, athletic and intelligent dogs who can be quite independent.
