Pekingese

Overview

Pekingese are named after the ancient city of Peking in China. They can be described as stubborn, self-righteous, brave, and happy dogs who are very affectionate with those they love. Though they may be small in size, they are sturdy dogs with a thick, straight coat of hair that gives off a larger appearance. Due to their short, domed faces Pekingese may go through life snorting, snuffling, and sneezing. Pekingese are excellent companions for homes with small children and seniors.
