Treeing Walker Coonhound
Overview
Treeing Walker Coonhounds are sometimes thought of as oversized Beagles. They have a white, black, and brown tricolor coat, and descend from American and English Foxhounds. Their long, muscular legs were built for tracking and hunting. Their temperament can vary, but in general they are happy, smart, and outgoing dogs who are highly loyal to their family. As they are hunting dogs, who were bred for long days in the field, they require one to two hours of exercise every day.
