Gallbladder Bile Duct Disorders in Dogs

Support Your Dog Where They Need It

We understand as pet parents that the symptoms of a gallbladder bile duct disorder can be devastating. All-natural supplements by NHV can help support your dog with gallbladder issues. They complement any medical treatment prescribed by your vet to help create the most comprehensive recovery plan possible.

How NHV Remedies Support Dogs with Gallbladder Issues

Using natural remedies alongside vet-prescribed treatment is the key comprehensive support for gallbladder issues in dogs.

NHV Pet Experts recommend using the complete Gallbladder Kit, which contains:

  • Milk Thistle - Since the gallbladder stores bile (a liquid secreted by the liver), it’s vital to keep the liver functioning optimally.
  • Turmeric - Will help overall inflammation in the body.
  • BK Detox - Will help to gently detox the body. The herbs in BK Detox also have strong antioxidant properties.

The vets, vet techs, and Pet Experts at NHV also suggest that pet parents include the Tripsy to help with the kidneys.

Symptoms of Gallbladder Problems in Dogs

  • Vomiting
  • Jaundice
  • Anorexia
  • Fever
  • Abdominal discomfort

The gallbladder is a small organ with a big role in your pet’s body. If your pet is experiencing these symptoms, start with a trip to the vet, and consider following up with an all-natural supplement for additional dog bile duct support.

About the Gallbladder

The gallbladder rests in the abdomen where it’s attached to the liver and pancreas. It’s a small, pear-shaped organ that stores bile, a liquid secreted by the liver and discharged into the small intestine to help eliminate waste from the body and facilitate digestion and the absorption of fats.

Causes of Gallbladder Bile Duct Disorders

Inflammation of the gallbladder (cholecystitis) is usually caused by a bacterial infection that starts in the intestine and travels up the bile duct or spreads through the blood. Inflammation can also spread to the surrounding branches of the bile duct and the liver. If the gallbladder walls become damaged then bile can leak into the abdomen and cause infection and inflammation that can sometimes be fatal. Feeding your dog supplements with ingredients like Milk Thistle can help provide bile duct support by improving their liver function.

Obstructive dog gallbladder issues, or obstruction disease, can occur when an abnormal pancreas compresses the bile ducts that lead from the liver to the gallbladder. Compression of the bile duct can be attributed to pancreatic swelling, fibrosis, inflammation, or the presence of gallstones, which is rare.

Non-obstructive disease usually occurs as a result of a bacterial infection. If the gallbladder ruptures, it is usually caused by blunt trauma, gallstones, or gallbladder inflammation.

Is Your Dog at Risk of Gallbladder Bile Duct Disorder?

Dog gallbladder issues are not common, but when they do occur they generally affect middle-aged and older dogs. Gallbladder disorders are generally divided into three categories: obstructive disease, non-obstructive disease, and rupture of the gallbladder. Tumors may also affect the gallbladder.

Additional Support

If you suspect your dog has gallbladder issues, an exam by your local vet should be the first step. They can assess the problem, provide a diagnosis, and help set your pet on the path to wellness again.
